SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT (24 September 2021)

The workshop topics include general algebra, universal algebra, lattice theory, ordered algebraic structures, and applications in logic and elsewhere. The conference schedule will consist of talks by the participants, and discussions. A videoprojector, an overhead projector and a board will be available (presentations in PDF are preferred).

Some extras: There are numbers of grocery stores (Albert, Billa, DM), pharmacies, etc in the city centers of “Rožnov pod Radhoštěm” and “Karolinka”. Also, you may want to walk around, or -perhaps- you need to travel back to these cities for your return. For this aim, you can take the bus again 940073 / 940074 from Hutisko-Solanec, Čarták, Sedlo near our hotel for both cities. Please search the timetables regarding your necessity, from the links given above.

Project position in algebra at the Johannes Kepler University Linz

Applications are invited for a fellowship in the framework of the Czech-Austrian cooperative project on "New perspectives on residuated posets".

The position is available for 1 year with a possible extension to 2 years, starting within 2016 (earliest 1 April). We invite applicants who hold, or expect to receive, a PhD in mathematics. Alternatively, the position is available for the acquisition of a PhD in mathematics.

There is no teaching load. We are searching for somebody who is interested in the topic of residuated structures and willing to contribute with own creative ideas.

In case of your interest, please submit a short CV, a list of publications if applicable, and a statement about your research interests to Thomas.Vetterlein@jku.at.

Conference place

The traditional Summer School on General Algebra and Ordered Sets will be held at wellness hotel Troyer in Trojanovice near Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, from September 3 to September 9, 2016. The conference site is accessible by train/bus or car, and there is a parking place available at the hotel. Troyer is a luxury hotel offering lots of wellness and leisure time activities.

The hotel is located near Radhošť (1129 m), one of the most popular peaks of Moravskoslezské Beskydy mountains, and is ideally situated for afternoon walks.

Board and lodging
There are no more free rooms in hotel Troyer. A limited number of rooms have been reserved in a nearby hotel Ráztoka, 5 minutes of walk from hotel Troyer (breakfast served at Ráztoka, other meals at Troyer). However, they are not guaranteed, and reservation has to be confirmed by the hotel.

All participants are expected to have full board in the hotel restaurant. The first meal served will be supper on September 3, and the last meal will be lunch on September 9.

Conference schedule

The participants are supposed to arrive on Saturday, September 3 in the afternoon. The six-day scientific schedule will run from Sunday, September 4 to Friday, September 9. The conference language will be English. The conference schedule will consist of invited one-hour lectures, 25-minute (incl. discussion) talks by the participants, and discussions. A videoprojector, an overhead projector and a board will be available (presentations in PDF are preferred).

The 91st Workshop on General Algebra (91. Arbeitstagung Allgemeine Algebra) will take place in Brno, Czech Republic from 5th to 7th February 2016 (Friday-Sunday).
