The UK Adult Literacy Core Curriculum (p. 3) describes literacy as: 'The ability to read, write and speak in English at a level necessary to function at work and in society in general.' If you would like to adapt them to your own needs, please do the following: Go to the menu bar at the top of the PDF document. Click on the Text Select tool. Use the tool to highlight the text you want. Copy and paste this into a new Word document. You will then be able to adapt the document according to your needs, and save it as your own file. Please note that the materials have copyright notices in the footer of each document. This needs to be changed or deleted when you adapt the document for your own purposes. To do this, go to the toolbar in Word, then click on View/Header and Footer.
